It doesn't sound like me.
It sounds like I'm trying to do a lesson in class or prepare a set of handouts for students or something.
Very distant, very standoff-ish, very prim and proper.
It doesn't flow.
Bleah...
Now there, maybe this post will turn things around for me.
We'll see...

Never "heard" your own voice through keeping a diary before? :)
Actually, I hate how I sound on voicemails ... which makes me wonder if I hate my voice in general ...
Well I have, it's just... I never really saw this as a diary the way diaries are. I wrote some really personal stuff in my diary when I used to keep one in school. There's almost nothing in there I would put up on a blog that's accessible by the public, and especially my students. :)
I also find my conversational style is highly dependent on non-verbal communication, with quite a bit of non-verbal cues filling out all the stuff that gets ellipted. So, that's not entirely a useful style to borrow from for this either.
But I'm trying to move toward a more informal way of 'speaking' and cut back on the formal voice... which has been the voice I have been using for the bulk of my recent writing. Oh, by recent, I mean the last, perhaps, ten years or so...
